==========
Version History
---------------
0.09 Feb 1993 - BETA test version
1.00 Jun 1993 - First version released to the public as shareware
IMPORTANT NOTE: VIDEOBASE V1.0 REQUIRES THE VISUAL BASIC RUNTIME
MODULE VBRUN200.DLL WHICH IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE DISTRIBUTION
PACKAGE. THIS MODULE CAN BE EASILY OBTAINED FROM MOST BBS'S AND
ONLINE SERVICES.
Installation from a floppy.
---------------------------
For example, suppose your distribution diskette is in drive A. From
PROGRAM MANAGER | FILE | RUN. Type: A:\SETUP.EXE. You can accept the
default destination path or choose a new one if you so desire. SETUP
will create a PROGRAM MANAGER group for VideoBASE and all of the
required icons. To start VideoBASE, simply double click on it's icon.
Installation from another directory.
------------------------------------
If you have downloaded the shareware version of VideoBASE from a
BBS or online service, the following installation procedure is
required.
1. Assume that VBASE100.ZIP is in the directory of C:\DLOADS
2. Change to the C:\DLOADS directory
3. PKUNZIP VBASE110.ZIP
4. From Program Manager
- FILE | RUN
- C:\DLOADS\SETUP.EXE
Again, a Program Manager group and icons will be automatically created.
Since this is the first version, it is most likely not perfect. While
many error were caught during BETA test, there is always something that
slips through the cracks. Please report any bugs you find as per the
online help section on support. Compuserve 75270,3163 will get the
quickest response.
I welcome all your comments GOOD or BAD and look forward to suggestions
on how I may improve and enhance VideoBASE. Is there a feature that
VideoBASE does NOT do, that you just can't live without? Let me hear
about it.
I'll close by reminding you that VideoBASE is not free. If you continue
to use it past the 30 evalutation period, you must register it. This
will not only bring you extra benefits (see online help), but, it will
allow me to keep improving the software and create new windows software
for your enjoyment. This software is NOT crippled in any way. It is
fully functional. The only reminder that you will see is in the opening
shareware notice dialog, and in the ABOUT dialog. That's it! No nagging
screens popping up every 10 seconds. I've tried those types of programs
myself and needless to say, I didn't register many.
Should you decide to register VideoBASE after you've had a chance to
evalutate it, look under HELP | PRINT ORDER FORM.
Thanks for taking the time to try my software, I hope it meets your
needs!!!
Dale Eckert.
